Like every year the ZOOM Kids in Hungary were collecting their Zöld Merfödet /Green Footprints  in September and October. The 26,537 pupils and their 2,240 teachers in 133 institutions together collected a total of 454,522  green footprints; 168,228 green footprints for using clean mobility;157, 260 for active participation in the campaign week activities and another 12.800 Zöld Merfödet for planting 521 tree plantations . Additionally they gathered another 116,234 red footprints for sustainable food - thanks a lot for this much effort!

In 2024, the Hungarian campaign highlighted the motto "Earth belongs to everyone! ".

It was chosen to show the children the importance of taking care of the earth much better than we do care now, to understand that we have only limited resources and therefore have to find more sustainable ways of living.

Another important massage is to demand the so called developed countries to better support the poorest and to help them mitigate the effects of climate change. 

The schools and kindergartens expanded activities, engaging both students and staff to foster collective participation. 

Throughout the counrty, children enjoyed a broad array of community and individual activities in other ways, extending beyond eco-friendly outings. The campaign seamlessly integrated awareness actions and artworks into classroom lessons. The creativity of the participants took many different forms, including environmental poems and artwork made from natural materials.   

This year's action included community photo, carrying out a biodiversity-friendly action in the schoolyard or using the AWorld app for community activities so they can be shown on smart devices. Some schools again organized Bicibusses, , made drawings and collages to imagine and picture the green cities of the future. Others made a leaf-petal mandala, cooked meat-free soups, etc.

Many also designed postcards with a drawing and a short thought to send to climate negotiators at the Baku Climate Summit.
Those were used to create a giant digital postcard and also for the national handover of Green Footprints to the representatives of the Ministry of Energy, who will represent Hungary at COP 29 in Azerbaijan.
