3. Essay Writing: "My Imaginary City Without Cars"
Each student wrote a creative essay imagining a future city with no cars. These essays focused on cleaner air, quieter streets, more green spaces, and safer roads for walking and cycling. The activity fostered critical thinking about urban planning and the long-term benefits of sustainable living.
4. Guerrilla Action: Messages to Drivers
In one of the most impactful activities of the week, students prepared provocative eco-messages and distributed them to drivers near the school. They placed notes on car windshields and handed flyers to motorists, promoting reflection on daily car usage.
Some of the powerful slogans included (originally written in Macedonian, with English translations):
- “Секој издувен гас е облак за нашите бели дробови!”
“Every exhaust gas is a cloud for our lungs!” - “Еден велосипед = еден чист здив!”
“One bicycle = one clean breath!” - “Дали ти треба кола за 500 метри?”
“Do you really need a car for 500 meters?”
These messages were designed to provoke thought and encourage more responsible transportation choices among parents and other drivers.
